4'4" 2 piece Banty fly rod. Crafted by The Phillipson Rod Co. for Abercrombie and Fitch. This rod appeared in the Abercrombie and Fitch in 1968 catalog. The rod was described as follows: Lightest equipment of its kind in the world. Made for fresh water fishing, small stream work. Most compact ever developed. The fiberglass rod weighs a mere one once. This rod is so sensitive, makes a small fish feel like a whopper. This 2 piece banty rod was matched with a Hardy Flyweight reel (not included). The ferrules are Phillipson nickel silver. Includes original plastic tube with box attached, and cloth bag. Also included is a chrome micro fly reel. Very good condition.

This rod was custom made for Dr. G. G. Mc Kellar, whose name is inscribed on the shaft. The rod has nickel silver ferrules. Cork grip with bronze anodized up-locking reel seat over cork insert. The fiberglass blanks are dark brown with brown thread wraps. Includes replacement bag and original labeled aluminum tube. This rod is in excellent condition. The rod has a Garcia rubber butt cap which we believe is original since Russ worked with Garcia on blank design and fabrication. Garcia fabricated many of Russ's blanks according to his specifications. Reduced price.
9'6", 2/2 EF96 Epoxite fly rod. This rare rod was crated by Phillipson between 1970 and 1972 (before 3M purchased Phillipson) and comes with 2 tips. The rod weighs 4 1/8 oz. and will cast a line weight 5. The blank was painted a salmon color and wrapped with dark brown nylon thread with a white ring. Two carbide guides, 1 spiral guide on the butt, 7 Perfection snakes and tip top on each tip section. Cigar cork grip with cork insert reel seat and anodized aluminum hardware. Includes original cloth bag and anodized aluminum tube. This rod came from Bill Phillipson's personal collection. Bill's son, Don, sold it through Len Codella. Included are a letter of provenance signed by Don June 27, 1994 and photo of Bill. This rod is mint un-fished.

The free-flexing, internal design glass ferrules give the rod the appearance and feel of a one piece rod (spigot ferrule). Ceramic stripper. Guides wrapped with dark brown thread. Weighs 3 1/2 oz. This rod will cast a 7 or 8 line weight line. High quality cigar shaped cork grip. Anodized aluminum down-locking reel seat. Includes original Phillipson cloth bag and labeled aluminum tube. Very good condition with the exception of the blind wrap on the butt section. This will not affect the fishability.

The condition is very good with some minor paint scuffs.
