Early Fishing Tackle Cabinet (fly tyers cabinet), formerly part of the Property of the Rt. Hon. Lord Scarsdale, at Kedleston Hall, Derbyshire, Great Britain. Crafted in walnut, the double doors at the front open to reveal nine oak drawers of various sizes. They contain a quantity of antique tackle, including tackle winders, flies on cards (distressed), an early turned bone float, etc. The cabinet measures 20" X 13 1/2" X 12 3/4". It has brass handles on its sides. The cabinet appears to be of quite early construction, possibly late eighteenth century at the earliest. It is quite possible that this has been made by one of the cabinet makers employed at Kedleston, as perhaps were some of the contents. Much of the tackle bears the initials A.C., obviously another member of the family. The cabinet was formerly included in a sale of the contents of Kedleston Hall, one of the country's finest Palladian houses. The current owner replaced the back of this cabinet with old wood. Includes paperwork describing this cabinet when purchased by the current owner. Includes a key.

10' 3/2 Salmon rod. Calcutta 6 strip bamboo / cane.  Unique 12 strip cedar inlayed handle/grip wrapped with ratan. Cedar 12 strip continues to reel seat with nickel silver sliding rings. The rod weighs 5.2 oz on our digital scale.  Reverse twist snake guides.  One tip is 3/8 inch short. Patented nickel silver ferrules. Includes replacement cloth bag and brass capped wooden rod tube. Based on the scripting on the butt cap, the rod was crafted between 1879 and 1887. The rod in in excellent restored condition.

6'6", 2/2 Model 96. This rod weighs 2.9 oz. on our digital scale. Line weight 4. The wraps are brown silk tipped with gold. Blued nickel silver ferrules sizes 11. The rod has an agate stripping guide. Down-sliding cap and ring over cedar insert reel seat. Includes cloth bag and original labeled brass-capped aluminum tube with tube sleeve. This rod was restored by John Gallas. Mint restored condition.  Reduced price from $3995 to $3695.

10' 6", 3/2 Model 420 dry fly Salmon rod with fighting butt. This rod will cast an 8 weight line. Weighing 8.8 oz on our digital scale and 11 oz with the fighting butt. Reverse half wells cork grip measuring 9 1/2 inches in length. Up-locking reel seat with wood insert.  Agate stripper guide. Nickle silver ferrules sizes 13 and 20. Double built butt section. The rod wraps have been over varnished as has the butt section from the stripper guide to the ferrule. The lower half of the butt section and both tip sections have not been over varnished. Midge 6' 3", 2/2. Serial number 2183. Line weight HEH or 4.  Weighing 1.7 oz on our digital scale. Cigar cork grip with down sliding cap and ring over cork insert reel seat.  There is a carved detent in Cork grip. Size 16 aluminum ferrules.  Original owner's name inscribed on the rod in 1958. Includes cloth bag and aluminum tube. The rod appears to be restored.
