8', 2/2 California builder taught by Gary Howells. Serial number 1599. This rod will cast a line weight 5/6. Reverse half wells cork grip. Down-locking reel seat with wood insert. Brown thread wraps similar to Gary Howells although Al's wraps were tipped in blue rather than gold. Wrapped duronze ferrules. Al built 40 hexagonal rods and 14 quad rods between 1974 and 1988. Includes original cloth bag and aluminum tube. The rod appears to be un-fished. Sold
